BCU-ITT-63595 - WREXHAM MAELOR HOSPITAL PHARMACY BOILER REPLACEMENT

Overview

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board requires a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the replacement of the existing heating plant serving the Pharmacy Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The project involves the removal of three existing Remeha Gas 210 ECO natural gas boilers and the installation of three new Remeha Gas 210 Ace 120/4 sectional boilers within the Pharmacy Plantroom located on the second floor of the hospital. The works comprise a turnkey mechanical and electrical installation project and will include the phased removal and replacement of the existing boilers, modification and reconnection of associated pipework and services, integration with the existing Building Management System (BMS), alterations to electrical supplies where required, testing and commissioning, production of record drawings and operation and maintenance manuals, and all associated builders' works necessary to complete the installation. The successful contractor will also be responsible for fulfilling the role of Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and for preparing and implementing the Construction Phase Plan. The replacement works will be undertaken within a live hospital environment and must be carefully planned to maintain continuity of service to the Pharmacy Department. The installation will be carried out on a phased basis to ensure that two of the three boilers remain operational at all times, allowing the heating system to continue functioning throughout the duration of the project. Any temporary interruptions to services must be agreed in advance with the Health Board and undertaken in accordance with site operational requirements. The contractor will be expected to coordinate all aspects of the works, including project management, health and safety compliance, site supervision, logistics, transportation of materials, commissioning activities, waste disposal, and stakeholder engagement. Particular consideration will be required for working within a healthcare environment, managing access restrictions, maintaining service resilience, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), gas safety regulations, and all applicable statutory requirements.
