C001224APR-River Lagan Maintenance Works Contract 2026

Overview

The Authority invites tenders to provide the works for River Lagan Maintenance Works Contract 2026. The Contract is for the hire of inland waterway vessel(s) and crew with appropriate plant, equipment and unifloat pontoons to undertake work activities on the tidal River Lagan and its banks between Stranmillis Weir and the cross-harbour Motorway Bridge. The contract includes, but may not be limited to the following activities: - 1) Dredging to remove small quantities of material from the riverbed that may cause obstruction to navigation; 2) Maintenance work to the stone revetments and banks of the river; 3) Lifting and maintenance work to the in river elements of the aeration system; 4) Maintaining and moving floating pontoons; 5) Power washing of quay walls; 6) Maintenance works of grab chains on the quay walls and other safety devices; 7) Removal of large items of floating debris such as trees; 8) Provision of attendances to contractors engaged on maintenance work to Lagan weir and DfC’s designated area. 9) Provision of attendances to contractors engaged on inspection, testing, environmental surveys and repairs within DfC’s designated area. The quantity of work may vary depending on the nature of the issues to be addressed and the Employer reserves the right to use other Contractors as necessary for larger scale works of a similar nature.
