Sell2Wales: how to find Welsh public sector contracts
Sell2Wales is the Welsh Government's portal for advertising public sector contract opportunities in Wales, and it is free for suppliers to use. If you deliver in Wales and you only watch the UK-wide services, you are missing the lower-value work that never leaves this portal.
What Sell2Wales is
Sell2Wales is run by the Welsh Government as the national advertising portal for Welsh public sector procurement. Buyers publish notices there, and suppliers register free of charge to search and to receive alerts.
It also carries information about awarded contracts, which is more useful than most suppliers realise. An award tells you who holds the work now, which is the beginning of a conversation about who might hold it next.
Which buyers publish there
Welsh local authorities, NHS Wales organisations, further and higher education institutions, Welsh Government departments and sponsored bodies, emergency services and housing providers all use it.
Some of those buyers run their tendering on a separate electronic system, so the notice on Sell2Wales tells you where to register and where to submit. Read the notice as the instruction, not as the whole process.
How suppliers usually get started
Create a free supplier account with your company details, then set the categories and the geographic coverage that match what you genuinely sell and where you can genuinely deliver. Alerts are only useful if you still read them in three months.
Welsh public contracts often place real weight on community benefits, the Welsh language and local economic impact. If your answers cover technical delivery only, you are leaving marks on the table.
As with every portal, get your insurances, accounts, policies and accreditations into one folder first. The same evidence gets asked for again and again.

- Do I have to be based in Wales to bid?
- No. Welsh public contracts are open to suppliers from elsewhere, subject to what each notice requires. Some contracts do need local delivery capability, which is a practical requirement rather than a rule about where your office is.
